SUMMER SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #214 AT THE AICP-END

EIGHTY-FOUR DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

Let me share a brief story with you about my Mom’s final year of life
Weedpatch, CA, 08-15-2018 Wednesday: I want to applaud Chef Bea for doing a superb job on last week’s secondary blog post as August 8, 1927, is my mom’s birthday.  If she were still with us, she would have been 91 years-old but I am glad that she now resides on the other side of life as there and only there, could she reunited with her lost leg and be with God forevermore.
Mom’s final year was not a happy one
In the last year or so of Mom’s life, she was not overly happy, having lost her beau in January of 2012, I believe, if I can still remember, he died on New Year’s Day.  Funny story, we sat there with his comatose (or so we believed) body and not a stir from him.  We expected him to give up the ghost and abandon his fleshy abode but it did not happen, would not happen, and so we sat.
Around noon, Mom said, “Let’s go home and have lunch so we can come back,” which we did.  No sooner, however, did we walk through the door and there was the hospital calling to let us know that Jack had passed.  Son of a bitch!
Flipping Jack!
It would seem that perhaps Jack might not have been so comatose after all but true to his nature, he did not want anyone to shed tears over him or wish him farewell, so the old bastard lay there in his hospital bed, waiting for Mom and me to vacate the place and so he gave it up, most likely the moment we set foot out of the door and left for the elevators to go down to the parking lot.
As you can see, we are rapidly approaching the end of the second go-round of Beverly Carrick original artworks, which is flipping phenomenal as that means we have blazed through almost all of her vast collection culled from the Numbered Series.  Boy, did I wish I had photos of the earlier, long-lost paintings.
Here we go:

Mom struggled to make it to Election Day 2012 because she wanted to see the people of this country put Barack Hussein Obama out on his ass
Back to our story, Mom held on through 2012, did the best she could but never wanting to relinquish the position of being the most important person in the room at all times, well, it led to increased conflict between me and her, something that has long bothered me but what could she or I do, it is the nature of our personalities.
I am positive that Mom held on to Election Day 2012 as she wanted to see Barack Hussein Obama kicked out on his ass.  She despised that man and I know she was positive that Mitt Romney would be able to beat him but alas, he did not and three weeks later, she gave up the ghost and left this earthly abode.
Friends, thanks for joining me here today; I hope you will continue joining me at the main blog throughout the rest of the week as I do my second week of the year.  Thanks again for being here, without you and your patronage, none of this would be possible.
Thank you and God bless.

Due to increasingly strident threats from our ‘admirers,’ we have had local street artist Simone do cartoon caricatures of each of us and this one is mine; way to go there Simone, way to go.  As professionals and as business owners, we seek to protect our identities and our businesses from intimidation and harm, hence the new artwork.  Ah, well, I began my culinary career in 1969 bussing tables at age 12 and became a cook's apprentice in 1973 at age 17. I have worked all over California, Hawaii, Washington State, and even a brief time in Arizona

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Wednesday, February 23, 2011: Savoy Brown: “Looking from the Outside Live ’69 and ‘70” (2000)

Like all other bands that have been around since the early to mid-1960s, the bands and their record companies cull the deep vaults where forgotten gems reside.  The album we have for you today by Savoy Brown came out in 2000 and is entitled, “Looking from the Outside Live ’69 and ’70.’  Although the live sound is not as good as some might wish, it still offers a fantastic glimpse into one of the top touring acts of the 1960s and 1970s, Savoy Brown.  The first four tracks feature Kim Simmonds (guitars/ piano); Chris Youlden (vocals/ piano); “Lonesome” Dave Peverett (rhythm guitar); Tone Stevens (bass); Roger Earl (drums) while the rest feature the same lineup MINUS Youlden.  We know you will love this CD so please use the link we provide you here so you can embark on a digital journey to the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com.  When you arrive there, pick out the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you—you will be glad you did.

SPECIAL ALBUM(S) OF THE DAY:

Wednesday, September 07, 2016 AICP-END Blog Post (Original Posting):

In 1972Roxy Music, a great British art-rock band, released its first album, “Roxy Music.”  The band featured Bryan Ferry (vocals, keyboards), Brian Eno (vocals, electronics), Phil Manzanera (guitars), Andy Mackay (oboes, saxophones), Paul Thompson (drums), and Graham Simpson (bass).  Roxy Music set in motion the pathway upon which, other art-rock bands would follow but no one else could touch the group for the quality of its music and the ethereal lyrics they wove into the songs.  This album is a great debut album, one we wholeheartedly know you will love so please, use the link we provide you here so you can go to Amazon.com and pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you—you will be so glad you did.
