WINTER SESSION 2017

 BLOGPOST #140 AT THE AICP-END

We pick up where we left off last week, only with me, your host
Shafter, CA, 03-15-2017 Wednesday: Hola, amigos, welcome, bienvenidos, I am so glad you are here because once again, we pick up where we last left off, celebrating the life and times—and the art!—of Beverly Carrick.  I am telling you, for those of you fortunate enough to see a Beverly Carrick original, it is akin to opening the door separating heaven from Earth and lo and behold—one sees the touch of God.
Lately, my friends have been running through the paintings, describing each one so the viewer can share in the celebration, become part of the artistic “Mass,” so-to-speak because that is precisely how and what I feel every time I spend some time visualizing the artworks of the late great artist.  Let us discuss them now:
The first painting, #0346, a 20” x 24” entitled, “Starting a Cattle Empire,” demonstrates Beverly’s unique talent with painting nighttime scenes as well as Westerns.  Here, some devious cattle rustlers move out underneath the moon’s ambient light to ‘borrow some cattle’ with the intention of starting a new cattle empire.  Glorious painting, mis amigos, I hope you enjoy it.
The next painting, “Maui Moon,” again demonstrates the artist’s ability at painting evening scenes as well as oceans.  Something is magical about nighttime seascapes that to me seem to be the most difficult because it becomes a study of contrasts, not one of endless colors, all swirling around the viewer standing on the glistening sand as the water rolls inward.  I think you will enjoy this scene as much as I do.
Our next painting, “Sunset Dream,” depicts a high desert scene during the rainy season, something I find very alluring.  I hope you will enjoy visualizing this one because it is glorious indeed.
Our next image, #0349, “The Golden Tide,” features a dazzling seascape late in the afternoon when the Sun emblazons the sand as the waves roll ashore.  I think that lovers of California seascapes will love looking at this one because it is indeed among the best representations that I believe the artist has ever painted.
“Smoke Trees at Day’s End,” is one of the BIG paintings Beverly occasionally painted for customers and this one is absolutely superb.  I think you will fall in love with natural deserts as you view this one because it is among her best deserts.
The painting following the previous one, “Sunset’s Last Gleam touches the rushing Stream,” features another desert scape during the rainy season when flashfloods become perilous to desert travelers.  These ‘tsunamis of rainwater’ can quickly envelop and seize the unwary desert hiker, carrying him or her to his or her death.  Please, enjoy this one, I love it--me encanta!
Our next painting, “Winter Sea,” is not an ocean-scape so to speak; no, it is a winter desert scene with the snowmelt filling the stream flowing towards YOU, the lone viewer.  I think you will fall in love with this glorious painting, one that most certainly will chill you to the bone.
The following two paintings, “Yuccas and Prickly Pear” and “Verbena Sundown” are both amazing examples of natural desert scenes, something at which, Beverly was so adept.  Both of them warm the heart of the viewer, which is why everyone should spend a moment or two of our very precious time to enjoy them.
“Sunset Cascade” is a glorious alpine scene of sorts, a venerable ‘mountain-scape,’ if ever the example existed.  I think you will take heart viewing this one, which is among the reasons we have included it in today’s offerings besides the fact that it is the next one in numerical order.
“A Teddy Bear at Sunset” is another lovely desert scene, painted before Bev became the exclusive purple desert artist of great repute.  Everyone knows her purple desert scapes, which means you should, too, so if you are not, visit her Website to see what ones remain for you to purchase.
Some of you might scoff but seagulls do fly a long ways inland to spend time at lakes, rivers, and other places where water exists.  This painting depicts such a scene, which is why we urge you to give it a good long look.
The final three paintings are more delightful desert images, ones I know everyone will enjoy so please—spend some time looking at them.  Here we go:
