If Beverly Carrick were still alive today, we suspect she would be firmly set in the Camp of Donald Trump because he is a Manly Man, Successful, and wants to stomp out we Democrats—Yikes!

WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #84 AT THE AICP-END

Welcome from the other blog…
Kihei, HI, 02-17-2016 Wednesday: At the main blog today, I closed with a thought on the unfair delegation of super delegates to Hillary Clinton, especially when Senator Bernie Sanders seemingly has cleaned her clock (we think) in Iowa and for sure in New Hampshire.  How can Hillary have more Super Delegates than Bernie?  This is not right nor does it bode well for our party’s health, people are already angry and that is WHY we look at someone such as Sanders to make things right.  With Hillary, it will be more of the same.
Beverly Carrick loved STRONG Men
This blog, as you know, we dedicate to Beverly Carrick, patron saint of our blog and someone we all knew to one degree or another and loved.  Beverly was not a Democrat nor was she ever; however, in a recent discussion around the table, we debated whom she would like in the recent election battles.  Most of us believe she would gravitate to Donald Trump because she liked manly men who accomplished great things and in our view, Mr. Trump would fit that bill.
She would have loved Donald Trump
We also suspect that Beverly would appreciate his gruff and belligerent style, when it came to her political enemies of which, I would be one, she wanted to see someone on the GOP side of the side stomp us out of existence like we were bugs.  Having been vigilant during the days of the last Bush presidency, I know how she felt because we sure wanted to see someone squish his people out of existence.  The sad thing is, we now need to see George W. Bush on the campaign trail doing his best to help his little brother, Jeb.  Oh, whoa, say it ain’t so, Jeb!
Jeb is such a woosie if he needs his brother George W. to stump for him on the trail

Beverly—although a strong conservative—fits the model of the independent woman
I hope none minds me sharing some thoughts about Beverly Carrick, someone I have met on several occasions but of course has no way of knowing well.
What I know from good friend, Brian Carrick and his distant relative, Stinkbug—on his father Harry Hall Carrick’s side—is that Beverly was a woman who admired powerful men and loved hanging on the arm of one.
This is in no way to dismiss her stance as an independent, modern-day ‘liberated woman’ back in the early 1970s but also a Republican icon.  That is why we love her so here at the blog.
Congratulations to the Beach Boys, “Surfin’” came out 54 years ago today
The sands of time can be extremely cruel but 54 years ago today, the Beach Boys released the song, “Surfin’,” in 1962.  Wow, what a song, a song that means so much to the people living here in Hawaii where we developed the sport.  Every young boy and girl—unless they are some sort of freaky ‘landlubber,’ learns how to get onto a board at the age of 4-5 and begins going through the drills.
I have had the distinct pleasure of seeing the Beach Boys on several occasions and want to wish them well to their remaining original members.  Come home soon!  Please, join me at the main blog today and throughout the rest of the week.
Aloha!
Thank you!

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2016

The album we have for you today is the next one by Justin Hayward, “Spirits Live at the Buckhead Theater, Atlanta,” (2014).  This is an album by all accounts that ranks among the best modern albums by either the Moody Blues or Justin Hayward in—well—years.  One has to wonder why the power of the music and the strength of Hayward’s vocals have not appeared within the past 10-15 years when the band has sort of been drifting around musically.  This album is fine, one that we highly promote, and hope that you will check out so please--use the link we have for you here so you can go directly to Amazon.com.  Once there, you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you—you will be so glad you did.
