This is a photo of I, your host, back in the 1980's when I was the Executive Chef at a country club in the Napa Valley but for security purposes, we have scaled some of our personal info back.  However, I spent many years working in professional foodservice, having begun as a young boy working for my father in his restaurant over on the coast in Pismo Beach.  Foodservice is in my blood and it's something I still do actively every day in my late eighties in Washington State.

MORE: CLIMAX BLUES BAND

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2016

In 1978, the Climax Blues Band released their follow-up to “Gold Plated,” “Shine On,” and this was an excellent follow-up indeed.  No one has ever been able to dispute the musicianship of the members and yet some moan and groan at any attempt to expand on their original sound.  Here, the band shows depth at all positions and the individual tunes are excellent such as "Mistress Moonshine.”  Performing on the album were the following musicians: Pete Haycock (guitars/vocals), Colin Cooper (saxophones/vocals), Derek Holt (bass guitar/keyboards/vocals), Pete Filleul (keyboards), John Cuffley (drums).  We love this album because the band is in fine form and their ability to grasp and perfect various genres of music while never straying far from their roots is why you need to seek this CD out by using our link to go directly to Amazon.com.  One there, you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works for you.
