SPRING SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #96 AT THE AICP-END

Welcome to the Secondary Blog
Santa Barbara, CA, 05-11-2016 Wednesday: Today, we have another magnificent batch of original Beverly Carrick paintings for you again, ones we find to be ravishing to the senses.  I have to say that Brian’s mom was a great artist, someone I am proud to have met and known for a short while.  She put her heart and soul into every painting and one can see it on full display in the following artistic works.
In many ways, professional chefs view art and artists as fellow travelers—not in the communist sense but in the creationism in which, we both indulge.  Many exquisite restaurants, country clubs, and hotels have all sorts of wonderful paintings on display throughout their lobbies, in their dining rooms, and in their guest suites.
I have to say I would love to have a five star fine dining private club and have nothing but Beverly Carrick originals on display for our guests to take delight.  I would entitle the endeavor “Club Carrick” and would do it either in my hometown of Santa Barbara or possibly up north in Monterey, California.
Here we go:

I hope you found the paintings beautiful to behold today and hey, if anyone would care to back me in a new culinary endeavor, you know how to contact me, my email address is there as well as the business telephone number.
We also (well, not me but the Carrick family) seeks contacts with top flight art managers and artist developers to market, sell, and promote the memory and the works of Beverly Carrick.  We urge you to please get in touch with them at 661-831-2544 but not if you want to sell a painting back to the family, you and I BOTH know that is not right.  Do you attempt to sell a plate of ham and eggs back to the chef whom served it to you 30 years ago?  No, of course not and if you think you can, well, you should not read this blog because YOU are a dumbass.
Ah, well, if the comment does not pertain to you, take no offense and if does, well who the f—k cares—LOL.
Please, join me at the main blog throughout the rest of the week and thanks for joining me here because I appreciate your visitations as without you, we could not survive.
Thank you.

This is me as a chef during the 1980's when we took a group photograph for a Chefs de Cuisine yearbook. At the time, I was working at a hotel in Bakersfield, CA, down on Union Avenue. It was still somewhat nice and the area was still the original "restaurant row" of the city.  Now, I am 70 years old and work over in Santa Barbara, CA, as a food and beverage director for a fine-dining country club.

MORE: CLIMAX BLUES BAND

WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2016

The Climax Blues Band released their next studio album in 1975, “Stamp Album.”  This album featured a rocking quintet of superb musicians.  Performing on the album were the following musicians: Pete Haycock (guitars/vocals), Colin Cooper (saxophones/vocals), Derek Holt (bass guitar/keyboards/vocals), Richard Jones (bass/keyboards/vocals), John Cuffley (drums).  The band was now beginning to stretch out from its original blues rock sound to one incorporating wider and more diverse musical influences.  We love this album and know that you will, too, so please, use our link to redirect your browser to Amazon.com where you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works for YOU—you will be glad you did.
