Today’s
Flamin’ Groovies’ album is the band’s TWELFTH release, “Groovies Greatest Grooves,”
which came out in 1989 and contained much of the band’s best material and then
some. Anytime we have the opportunity to
hear the work of Roy Loney, the band’s original vocalist, we get shivers down
the proverbial spine, my friends, because Roy was a talented man. It is sad that the chemistry of musical
groups does not always mesh and that it drives talented people out of something
that could have been truly stellar. We
highly recommend this CD, it is among our most favorite and we know that once

Welcome
to the AICP-END Blog!
Bakersfield, CA, 08-30-2014 Saturday: it is sad for us to have to admit
but last year, we had a fire at the warehouse that contained much of the
Beverly Carrick lithographs, prints, photos, and other priceless material and
memorabilia that was destined for her art museum. We have people call us who constantly seek
various prints or lithographs for which, we have to sadly say, “We cannot fill
your order due to the problems at the end of 2013, NOT long after the
anniversary of the artist’s death; in fact, it was off only by two days so put
into that what you will. We would love
to be able to present a new line of work but at present, we do not have a major
demand for her works, something that all of us find to be truly sad. However, at some point in the future, the
pendulum always swings back in the other direction and when demand goes up, so
will the merchandise we will be able to offer her ardent fans.
Today,
we will continue offering glimpses at the artist’s work as we continue the
countdown of amazing images she produced over the course of her storied lifetime. For someone that lost a leg at age 12 in the
height of the Great Depression and a year or two before the outbreak of World
War II, her life was not meant to be.
However, through determination and an amazing spirit, the future artist
set dancing aside and plunged into drawing day after day until her spirits and
the loss of her leg healed. We continue
now with more of her amazing paintings:

We believe that Beverly
Carrick does not get her just due so there you go: the artist’s works in
detail. We hope you enjoy them!

This is me back in the 1980's when I was the sous
chef of a large foodservice operation in Bakersfield, CA. I began my cooking
career in the 1960's when I apprenticed underneath a great chef, Master Chef Ulysses S. Paz. I have lived and worked in Hawaii, Washington State, Arizona, and California. Even though I am in my late 60’s, I am still
actively involved at a hotel here in Bakersfield,
CA.
